This was a great story about a winning entry ;-) I particularly liked the bit where Mary's realisation hit home:
'But wait - Erotica?'
It worked well that Mary's character was described as someone who would never enter into something like this, rather than someone who might be inclined to write such a thing. But wait...
Enter Esther!
At this point, the reader can only imagine the ticking off that the saucy Esther might receive when she arrives on the scene. However, the fact that Mary actually praises her daughter reminds us of her initial reaction on receiving the propitious news. This surprising ending, coupled with the humour surrounding the whole scene makes it more entertaining, which I think stands to reason why this entry did so well :-)

An amusing, clearly expressed story with relatable content (apart from the winning bit!) This is well structured, of very readable length, entertaining and with an excellent ending; it also fulfils the brief. Tick, tick, tick, tick, tick! Well done and good luck! Debbie

This is so funny! I love your storytelling skills. The dialogue feels real. As does the internal thought. Erotica!? Through Mary's perspective I loved seeing the initial shock, disbelief, and eventual realization that her daughter must have been the one behind the entry. So funny and so enjoyable to read.

This is a strong presentation overall, from start to finish. I like the characters as well as the story itself. This is a strong writing. Grabs your attention and holds it.
