It is so important to forgive....and to be forgiven. There is a lot of emotional healing involved in the process.
I think you have left out a word here: This me now," Paul explained.
It should probably read: This is me now," Paul explained.

I'm all for second chances, Raul. You captured the importance of owning up to behavior we're not proud of and asking forgiveness. Not everyone will be as receptive as Christine was in your flash story...but we will be better for having stepped forward and done the right thing!

Sometimes life offers us a second chance. We are wise if we make good use of it. Some squander that second chance and wind up doing even more damage. Pity the fool who does this. They will likely not get another chance and wind up later in life regretting their foolish mistakes.
