This is a well-balanced piece that has its own rhythm through the thoughtful use of repetition, and it likely illustrates why he is your ex-husband: there is/was a clear disconnect.
A harsh subject gently expressed: easy on the reader, but thoughtful and thought-provoking.
It is a commonplace observation that with all of the senses we have, all of the words we've created, we still can't be sure that what is said, is meant. But we can try.

Ouch. A six (which of course I don't have anymore). Sorry means "I will try never to hurt you that way again" and it is as hard to mean as to say I think. So many people I have hurt by not thinking before I speak, and so many hurt me. You are so eloquent. Thanks for sharing. Esther
