This 3-6-3, Water to Wind, has the proper formatting and follows the first launch of the newest anisoptera which will makes itself known to fascinated observers.

I didn't know that about the life cycle of the dragonfly. How cool. Now your tote from "water to wind" makes a lot of sense as this dragonfly has taken his first flight. Very cool!

So tentative and young! One can almost see the hesitation. I remember reading about the length of time the nymphs spend underwater, clearly gathering strength and speed for the difficult flight ahead. Your beautiful post, Jess, says so much in such short form and leaves us in wonder. The Emperor, I think. Take care Debbie xo

You say so much in so few words! A haiku that speaks of growth, determination, perhaps a bit of fate, and oh so much beauty! Not everyone makes a haiku sing like this one. The dragonfly is a poem on the wing!

This is a sweet little insect haiku, and I quite agree, the dragonfly is haiku-worthy. What a life underwater before it flies. Beautiful, dear Jess, in short verse haiku poetry.
Sending you my best today as always.

I love dragonflies and am looking forward to seeing them flit around my garden this summer. Your haiku highlights the excitement of the first flight. Perfect response to the club challenge.

Thank you for sharing this club entry with us. I enjoyed reading. I was reading some information on amazing dragonflies again. I hadn't realized everything they did for us.

Your haiku is beautiful and educational! It's always amazing to see some insects transform into their stunning adult form. It's poetry in biology!
The drops trickling gives the hint of what has just happened, confirmed by first flight.
Nicely done.
