You certainly paint a vivid and emotional picture in very few words. It tugged at my heart strings. I admire the blend of emotion and talent. Congratulations on your win! Well-deserved!

This is so sad and poignant. The world can be such a cruel place in these climates when fire takes hold. I think your presentation is excellent: the red background and the utterly forlorn look on the kangaroo's face. Your fine etheree evocatively captures the heartbreaking reality for these creatures who have only themselves to rely upon for survival. Well done, not least for producing a post that is skilfully done (nice reference to sunburnt country) and also not the usual, predictable fare!! Good luck! Debbie

A stark image and poem. A vivid reminder of the tragedy and horror of the bushfires of 2019-2020. Very well written. Best wishes for your entry.

This a good poem for the challenge with an excellent theme. Too many people suffer and must start over, literally and figuratively. I can relate to that as well.

Best wishes,

Alex

I like how you formatted the poem so it resembles a tree, at least I see a tree. Living in an area where there are forests, I think of trees growing and reclaiming the land after a wildfire has passed through. You paint strong images with your word choices and how you have arranged them in the poem. I found your poem sad and hopeful at the same time.

This etheree paints a sad picture of life in the "sunburnt country" of Australia for animals who lost their homes to fire. Hopefully, the land can regenerate quickly. Rod

You did a great job with this etheree. The syllable count was correct, and I liked the mental image you painted with your words. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.
