This is a very well written poem about a very deadly snake. I have a little story about one of these snakes one day when I was the young teenager my father had gone to the garden, and he saw a snake underneath the bean plants in the garden, the tail was sticking out. He quickly reached down, grab the tail and snapped the head off of the copperhead snake when he saw what it was, he turned his white as a sheet Because he knew what could've happened. Had he been bitten by that snake. Patricia

Snakes very much creep me out! I totally know where you're coming from, plus they can cause your death with thier deadly venom. I don't blame you for having that phobia. Well written, best of luck in the contest.

We have rattlers and water moccasins around where I live. The rattlers are new. A few more seen each year. I'm not particularly scared of snakes. Not sure why, but I hate frogs and lizards. Both of them creep me out. Wonderful entry. Gretchen

You use of compelling descriptive language provided exceptional imagery to you poem about Copperhead snakes. Snakes are a phobia of many people. Your poem is clear, smooth flowing and enjoyable. Best wishes in the contest.

With no tell-tell rattle to be very wary of (Did you mean tell-tale)?

Yes, that is a very reasonable phobia. Poisonous snakes are no joke, and there is so little time to get life-saving anti venom. Well written. Best wishes for your entry.

Ah it is an Australian snake, which are reputed to have seven out of the top ten most venomous snakes in the world, however there aren't terribly many victims, well done, great post my friend, blessings Roy

Hello author.
Well I'm not a snake guy, meaning if I go through the day, the week, the month or the year without seeing a snake, I'm ecstatic. Let's go one step further and my life without seeing one.

With that being said, you poem is well written within the guidelines of the contest rules.

Cheers, or do we say hissssssssssss...
John

Ciao!

Snakes ready spook me out and yet there are so many people that enjoy having them as pets.

They can hide so well in the dead vegetation. Most bites are caused because someone brushes passed with their feet or hand.

We have vipers in my country and they take a winter nap.

When I go walking in my woods I always take a stick and wear my boots. and I pray.

I enjoyed reading your poem. I don't like snakes either. We had 4 black snakes at our house. Your poem was descriptive and well written. Good luck in the contest
