Thanks, Karen...My mother had breast cancer three times before she lost her battle and every time I go for my mammogram, I feel the tension as I wait and wonder if this is my time. It's a scary feeling. Thanks for the review.

If a man had a procedure which required their dick getting smashed like pie dough, They sure would have developed something new and easy some time ago.:-)

Begin,

Congrats on winning Flash 100 Contest. Your story is compelling and highlights the anxiety we all experience when awaiting a worrisome medical diagnoses. Well done.

This really seemed to have been written from the heart and a true experience, I hope it isn't, I would hope no one has to got through losing someone, then wait for their own results.

Thanks so much for stopping and reading my story. My Mom fought cancer three times and in the end it finally won. I worry each year but so far, it is good.

I love the happy ending to this story. After tests, the possibility of breast cancer or any cancer is devastating. My husband had a cancer diagnosis a few years ago, but a second opinion proved the first doctor was wrong. We weree as pleased as the young lady in your story must have been. Congratulations on your well deserved win.

Thanks Lorraine. I based it on the fact that not long ago I had my mammogram and they found a small lump. Of course, I panicked. But it was benign and all is well. but knowing my mother had cancer three times scares me. I was beyond happy.

Thank God for that! Waiting on a result of this nature can be endless and of course no matter how many times you hear the words ' it will be ok' it doesn't make you feel any better. You feel like you're in limbo. You're mum was certainly there with you. I do believe when we lose a loved one they are never far away.
All the best.
Jill:)

Thanks so much. My mom had breast cancer three times and each time they said they got it all...but in the end it spread throughout her whole body. It's scary each time I go for a checkup. Thanks so much for your kind review.

Yes the reliving of the experience with her mother, and her mother's subsequent death, plus knowing there is a genetic component to breast cancer vulnerability would have made this a very scary experience. I can imagine her relief. Well written.

Thanks, Wendy...The story rings true. My mother bounced back three times from breast cancer, but it claimed her in the end. I always fear my checkups....

This is a good entry to the contest. While fiction, it is a very relatable story for many women who have a constant fear of this happening to them. Because of the circumstances you portray, it is more touching since this situation turned out differently for the character's mother.

This one-hundred-word story, Answered Prayer, has the proper word count and takes the readers to the moment when the worst fears are put to rest. Nice.

My mother faced cancer three times..She was a warrior, for sure. It makes a person consider their vulnerability when they have checkups as well. Thanks so much for your review.

This anxiety must be so relatable to so many! I like the little flashback to give your story depth and perspective. Plus, you chose well with the image which enhances the emotion of the piece. An excellent flash! Good luck! Debbie

This is a very well-done piece. I felt for her and was engaged hoping she herself was not going to have to go through the same things as her mother. When the doctor came in and gave her the results I took a cleaning breath.

Me too! My mom faced breast cancer three times before it claimed her. She was a warrior. I don't think I can be as brave as her. Thanks for the kind review.
