Another fine poem, Gypsy....and one brings a feeling of sadness and unexplained loss to the reader's mind. One can feel her desperate resignation as she senses she's waiting in vain

That's so sad. Kids really hang on to hope. If the dad really did abandon his family, then she would probably be very disappointed if she actually learned about his real character. I like that picture and the comforting presence of her faithful dog.

The words paint a longing and perhaps a loss of a father. The expectant child, as so many children have had that same experience. The colors and silhouette to me, also define the the mood of the little girl well.
