Boy drowned ten feet away from the shore?

Heddy is write, her thoughts are her own willis shouldn't say they are foolish.

I have always loved the Psalm 23

Poor willis, so many soldiers suffer even after they come home.

Another wonderful chapter.

Well done.

The body got stuck in the weeds. Usually debris piles up and can cover things. Thank you so much for this nice review. Gretchen

You did an excellent job showing the tenderness of Heddy and Willis. I am really liking this story. Thank you for sharing it with us. I couldn't find any way to improve it.

What a sweet girl Heddy is. I quite like the way you are developing her character. The action moves things along without using excess description, and good use of dialog. Esther

Heddy is happy her brother has changed because he is now helpful, but his fears worry her. This was a wonderful idea she had to help him during the storm by praying the 23rd psalm with him.

Thank you so much. I remember feeling like saying a simple prayer would fix everything. I still pray, but accept His will. I really appreciate the wonderful review and the bonus star. Gretchen

I love that she understands her brother so well, and although young is able to comfort him. Their relationship has always been special, and I am sure Heddy will eventually bring healing to him, and I somehow suspect that it will include Artie.

Hello Gretchen,
As always, you put the reader right into the scenes with your descriptions. I like a good storm if I'm safe and sound inside, as long as the wind doesn't get too bad. We used to get some williwaws down in Southeast. They came suddenly, and left just as quickly. Never fun if you're in a boat when one hits. Well done gal.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

Bring on the water can be frightening. You're subject to waves, wind, rain and lightening. Very scary. Sounds like a true life story for you to pen. Hint hint. Lol. Thank you so much. Gretchen

I may have to do a story about it sometime. We didn't get a lot of lightning in Southeast fortunately. The last boat I owned, the Bonnie J, had 31 foot aluminum trolling poles, and being on the water with those things sticking up in the air could get pretty scary.

Heddy is the perfect one to counter Willis' fears. She knows instinctively how to help him focus and allow the backdrop of the war to fade away. I love the description of that ominous storm building up and the clever contrast between Heddy's rather excited response and Willis' flashbacks of horror. Thanks for sharing another excellent piece here. Debbie

I guess most of us have been afraid a time or two in our lives; although, personally, I can't really remember when. But even at that, a little prayer or two here and there never hurt. :-) Thanks for sharing.

It usually dulls in the memory after you make it through. Thanks so much for this. Gretchen

I went all goose pimply reading this one. Thank goodness for Nonni and Heddy. It must be really frightening in a storm like that, and for someone like Willis, having lived through bombs, and bullets, seeing his mates shot and so much more, the sounds of the winds and rain must bring it all back. So sad, why leaders of countries feel they have to start a war for whatever reason and not give a thought to their own people's lives, well to me, those people are murderers. Well done, my friend, another amazing chapter. :)) Sandra xxx

I've written a review and to read it you'll have to check it out on the UK site. xxxx

Ok. Thank you so much. I agree. With the exception of Hitler and Hamas, it should be carefully considered. I'll check it out. Thank you. Gretchen

This is an inspirational chapter, Gretchen! Heddy gives Willis so much love and comfort. I loved Little House on the Prairie, and this has a similar vibe.

I loved it! Best, JohnC
