Nothing was resolved. The story had no ending. It just stopped. I feel all cheated. The story has grown from 10 comments to 23. Some are hysterical. Take another look. Karen

Yes, this was the kind of story requiring readers to speculate what they would do, themselves. Then ending I wrote just wasn't the same as what 'you' would have done. But in my defense, the prompt was about the digging.

This was very enjoyable to read. The casual dialogue is strong. I thought hte characters came across as "real" and easy to connect with. The discovery of the tombstones in the backyard does a great job of setting up this story. I enjoyed watching them try to figure out the implications of their findings. The dialogue between the neighbors is great. I wasn't sure what was going to happen here. Your story easily kept me interested!
