You're really getting the hang of this ghoststory writing. Each chapter exceeds the excellence of the previous one. Sorry I have gotten so far behind. Life gets in the way.

Amen to that, my friend. If I wasn't writing at 3 or 4 in the morning (because my brain won't let me sleep) I probably wouldn't get any writing done. You aren't too far behind and I think you will enjoy the next few chapters.... a bit different than the rest.

Victoria sort of reminds me of an old song that played on the phrase "Have your cake and eat it too." I can't remember who sang it right now, but seems like it might have been Ray Stevens, singing about "Wanting his Kate and Edith too." Thanks for sharing another fine chapter.

I don't want any cake unless I get to eat it...especially if it's chocolate. And no singing at the table... no can carry a tune. Glad you enjoyed this chapter. Thanks so much.

It's funny there's an awful lot of spirits that are earthbound, all wondering, all dealing with the unfixable past that won't go away of its own. It's funny, it's like the Catholic purgatory idea, I'm sure you have plan, your working your way through your own life, Carol, great job, fascinating. Blessings Roy

Funny you should say that about the Catholic purgatory... my ex-husband was strictly a Catholic and I didn't seem to fit in with their way of thinking. I suppose that's where some of this came from. Lots of people hanging out, hoping they get a second chance of getting through those golden gates. Thanks so much for the review.

I'm glad this one is still active. I can miss one day anfd get so far behind it is almost impossible to catch up. I wondering who William who has now died twice can still be around but so far no one seems to know where he might be. It seem like Victoria still wants to have it all. She want William and the secrets the mansion holds as well.

Thanks, Beth. William disappeared in an icy mist, but was he dead? I'm not sure the dead can be killed again, injured, or harmed, but as to where he is, that's a good question. I posted Chapter 21. I am really waiting to hear what you think of it. I'm out on a limb, maybe????

As always, you write very well and present interesting characters. Victoria may have destroyed William in her greedy neediness. What part in this does timid Esther play?

Hello, Carol. I believe Esther may play a very large roll in the story with Madeline and Victoria.... We've got to keep our fingers crossed and see. thanks so much.

I wonder if Esther knows who Billy is. It would be good to talk with him and find out his side of the story. So far Esther is the most likable of the ghosts and hopefully, she can help the living people with their mission.

I don't know that Esther knows who Billy is yet.... because she isn't aware that the Judge and Victoria are here either....but that will happen soon and will have a great affect on her. Hopefully, Madeline will be the friend she will need.

As I read the changes in the room after Victoria realized what she had done to William, the story changed from a ghost story to a nightmare as figures lurked in the shadows. I don't know how you sleep with all these ghosts lurking in your mind as they vanish and reappear through shadowed walls. Your descriptions are phenomenal, as well as creepy, while the story is still compelling. Fantastic writing.

Wow! I just wrote the creepiest thig I could think of and hoped it would be enough. Like I said, I'm writing this by the seat of my pants so to speak. Knowing that you are actually feeling the creepiness and the queasy scenes is awesome. Thanks so much.

Is this mansion big enough for the community of ghosts and mortals?
Holy cow! Somehow you manage to weave in a new character and make it work seamlessly!
So...am I too expect William to reappear soon?
I'm hoping so!
This could be a dramatic mini-series!
Kind of cool, how the plot has expanded from the beginning...
I think I'll check around my room for the key...
Hey!
Anything is possible!

It's purgatory...I think it can be mighty big...a place with no end. Yes, the story definitely has changed from where it started.... and now I will have to draw it together. If you find that key, let me know. I'm more than willing to share. LOL

In their real lives there have been lots of betrayals and loss, lots of greed and pride, lots of liaisons and plots and subplots - what a maze to walk through to see if any can be redeemed - and to find who deserves that treasure! Well done. As some would say: "there are more twists and turns than a cut snake!" Lol. Good writing. Very imaginative.

I think the lines are drawn for the most part and the evil will do whatever they can to find the treasure before the others...but, we have more than one group searching for it. Fingers crossed.
