Jesus saves in 2 ways

Hello Dennis,
I've not paid much attention to the different philosophies of the Christian religion. My own experience, having lived on a farm with people who believed they they were God's chosen, left me with a bad taste in my mouth for organized religion. It's easy for people to get distracted or misled concerning the word of God I think, and I don't much care to discuss the particulars I suppose. I believe Jesus came to save that which was lost, and am delighted to be considered a believer. When I read that passage in which Paul describes himself as the chief of sinners, I always felt like, because he had such and intimate relationship with Christ, he became even more aware of his sinful nature. I liken it to intelligent people realizing that they are sorely lacking in knowledge when compared to all that there is to learn. Thanks for sharing.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

Hi Tom, Thanks for reading and commenting. I'm sure many believers share your experience and reaction to same.

Yet we must consider our call to defend the Gospel truth, and that involves engaging the enemy. The true ENEMY is not the cultist or the skeptic but Satan himself of whom Jesus said, he was a liar and a murder from the beginning.

Arguing and controversies go with engaging the Enemy as we can see by the example of both Christ, Paul and all the Apostles.
    Something to think about.

    God bless, Dennis

    Hi Dennis,
I suppose it helps if a person has a good understanding of the bible and what it says concerning different issues. Often people are so convinced that what they believe is right that no amount of argument can change their minds. I guess at this point of my life, I'm just trying to live the best way I can, and even that's a struggle.
    Blessings,
    Tom

Spurgeon's passionate call to embrace new life in Christ sparks theological ponderings on the balance between grace and personal accountability, igniting introspective conversations within the faith community.

Your take on reformed theology is definitely different than what I've experienced. But I found this to be an interesting discussion on the truth of the Word of God. It is always good to continually study the word, and to compare all things stated by man back to it.
An enjoyable read!

Yes, I've noticed that spirit filled, born again Christians still question, not so much their salvation, but their standing in Christ, when one is absolutely sure of God's motivation of loving us beyond all doubt, (how else could one think of it). Someone said, the more I try not to sin, the more I sin, then I stopped trying, our life should be grace based, instead of sin prevention based. Being around people obsessed by ministry instead of obsessed with the beauty of Christ is a mistake, beautifully written, blessings Roy
