Thanks brother, I appreciate your reading and encouragement.
As for being judgmental, I suggest we usually only see it as a term of condemnation.
But it has another aspect; pronouncing something good.
Perhaps we could call it evaluating something, which believers are called to do in many areas of life. What do you think?

I am happy to explain the change in descriptive choice.
"Spiritual" has become a touchy-feely term in my view.
The Bible, is of course "spiritual" but it is also supernatural in origin, preservation and proclamation.
Its message goes to the heart of what?s wrong, points to a new heart as the solution and prophesies a glorious future for those who trust Jesus Christ now.

Hi Wendy, No baby learns to walk without falling and getting up again.
Our loving Savior helps us get on our feet again and again.
He corrects but never condemns those for whom Christ died. The process is sometimes painful, but the blessings that come with a progressive growth are more and more abundant.

This was very interesting and well explained. I've been bumping up against some of this recently. We've been studying the book of Jonah for the past 6 months, and that is a guy who makes mistake after mistake. But the more I've studied, the more I've gone from Wow he really messed up, to Wow I'm afraid I'd have done the same thing in his shoes. The Bible does not sugar coat anything, giving us the opportunity for real learning as we grow in Christ.

Hi Julie, Scholars tell us that Jonah had 5 brothers the Ninivites may have killed by skinning them alive. They were savage people who indulged in dreaming up new ways to kill their enemies.
If this be true, we can understand a little better why Jonah was hoping God would wipe them out even though they repented at Jonah?s message.
The book also shows it?s God Word that saves people and not necessarily the attitude of the messenger.
Also, God has the last Word in Jonah, which is so fitting.

I had not heard that possibility about Jonah's brothers. I did know they were cruel and ruthless, but that would give Jonah even more of a struggle to see God act mercifully toward them. Thanks!

Christianity is not the only road to a good life. Other religions and in some cases, no religion may be the best choice of an individual. And individuals should be allowed to choose their own path to living a good life.

Everyone is allowed to chose their own way. Until death.
A "good life" without Jesus is a spiritual oxymoron.
Jesus warned His religious opponents, "Unless you believe that I am He, you shall die in your sins."
And for those who do believe on Him, He said, "He that believes on Me, Has eternal life and shall not come into condemnation, but has passed from Death unto life". John 5:24
Now, you do have a choice.
Who do you choose to believe?

I really enjoyed your message about Jesus and the Holy Spirit. You had some interesting comments about the Apostles, especially Peter, who took a chance and stepped out on the water. He had the faith to step out, but not the faith to keep walking. You show how we are all imperfect, but God is good and He draws us to him.

Thank you Rhonda. It takes time to grow spiritually as Peter?s life shows us.
Key to growth is to keep feeding on God?s Word of grace.
He is doing a work in all believers to grow us into spiritual maturity so we can know and serve Him as He served others.
