I'm guessing this young lady was reaching for the stars, but the handsome moon swept her away. I could envision that entire scene. Thank you for sharing this with us. I loved it.

It's funny with this poem. But I felt like it was almost a romantic Alice in Wonderland. The adventure of reaching for Venus, then falling and landing in the lap of the moon. I could picture them dancing, even. Wonderful and imaginative. Gretchen

I guess in her reaching for the stars, she instead fell in love and the narrator seems content to take joy with the moon and not touch the stars. Lovely illustrations!

The photo is very pretty and the words paint a dreamy spell that compliments the image.I have always loved the moon. I was fascinated with it as a little boy, and I still am today. Tell you a secret, as a little boy, I would call out to the moon, and for a while everyone in my neighborhood called me Moon.
