Your poem does a wonderful job of sharing the physical and emotional toll that aging can take on the human body. You share a sense of frustration about the inevitable passage of time. The word choices are great. "Age is a curse" serves as a clear message of the central theme of the poem. The imagery of struggling to take an extra step and feeling the body's gradual decline is powerful. And it's a little tough to read if I'm honest. But I loved the metaphor of the body as a collector, demanding payment for the years of youth and vitality! What a unique way of looking at it! What I especially liked is that your poem seems to invite us to contemplate the passage of time and the importance of cherishing each moment.

Great poem on a great subject for all of us struggling to come to terms with the fact that our 20's are now a distant memory. I enjoyed the progressive steps as well as you beginning with forgetting steps. I did struggle with this line: Then my body came to collected my knees?
