That's so sweet! Oroville really knew what they both wanted - a puppy! Seems like that now they're married, they can raise a fur child together. I especially liked the discussion about know what is really God's will.

Thank you.
Sometimes we can really confuse things.

Hi Wayne, I read this chapter and found it so well written and fun. I already love Sylvie, she is quite a character, and Ben. Their marriage was a nice. I like Ben's attitude of trusting in God to see him right, and it looks like Sylvie (I love her) is beginning to see what he means. I am going to book mark it and then get reading it from the start. I really enjoyed reading the story. Well done!! :)) Sandra xxx

Thank you so very much!
I'm certain you would enjoy 'One Man's Calling' as well. The story of Ben Pail's father.
-
I will book case that as well. I was really hooked into this chapter, and want to know more about them. xx
-
I'm ashamed of myself for what may appear to be horn-tooting, but 'Another Is Called' fits between 'One Man's Calling' and "Right in the Eye'. It introduces Ben Paul.
-
I saw those, I wasn't sure if they were the same. I'm going to have to put these in order. 😊

Ben and Sylvie's good day. They get married (with a wet kiss at that), get a new dog, and meet up with good friends. I must say, Sylvie was very persuasive in getting Ben to marry her. He seemed a bit flabbergasted, but he couldn't argue with her logic (nor did he want to.)
This was an enjoyable, well written chapter.

Thank you.
I probably ought to have gotten into Ben Paul's head a bit explaining his 80 years of celibacy. He'd given himself to God and the church and now felt human, with human cravings, if that's the right word.

You have that special way of setting the background and putting this reader in the mood. Then with this chapter you brought up the "Ok corral," which takes me way back. It makes me start hearing Gene Pitney sing "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence," or Frankie Lane singing "OK Corral, Mule Train, Rawhide, Lucky ol' Sun, or I believe." Darn I must be old. Thanks for sharing.

Great songs, all!
Thank you for the uplifting review.

I like a woman who can take charge when a man fails to, so Sylvia is my hero in this chapter:-)
Guts and faith. Sylvia is learning, just like Beth did with the first Ben to "sit back and let God work".
I would spell out "JP" - most will get it, but some won't, and it seems too informal for a serious story.
In one paragraph, you have Sylvia on the phone stating that they intend to leave, then they are in the parking lot of a grocery store they intended to shop at and buying a dog. I think you should back up and set them on the road after good-byes to their hosts before they start adopting puppies miles away:-)
The dog story was a nice touch for showing how God's will works. I'm not sure he wastes his time on things like dog ownership, but I know a lot of people on this site believe he directs everything that they do.
Sorry I was a little slow getting to this one, but my inbox has been packed the last few days.
See you soon.

I agree with every point.

This is another excellent chapter. You are moving the story along nicely. I enjoyed the wedding story. I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Thank you for your very kind review.

God's will just works out great. There the dog was that was to be theirs instead of the free puppies. And Sylvia's house hadn't been burned down. This is such a happy part of the story.

A beautiful chapter, and for me the highlight was their getting a dog, a better gift from God than a puppy. I prayed much about the right dog to get before I found Sunny and I believe him to be God's very special gift.
Lovely chapter.

I was a spendthrift and have no sixes left, sorry. I enjoyed this latest chapter but rather than comment further, I would like to give a word of Testimony. The car incident reminded me of when I worked as a Program Coordinator. I had a manager for awhile. She left and on her final day, I got to witness to her about Jesus. Years later, my wife and I needed a car. We prayed and told God how much we had to spend. We heard about a car for sale, went to see the owner, and it was my old manager, and w got it for exactly our hoped-for price!

And it's only MONDAY!!!! (smiley face here)
Sit back and watch God work!
Thank you for the review, the 'air' six, and the great testimony.

To paraphrase the Honeymooners' episode when Relph Kramden found a large amount of money, "When I had it, I spent it big!"

Ben and Sylvia, get a motel room to save Mary and Slim from putting them, they are learning to hear the voice of God, as Ben senior had learned to do, it's a reasonably difficult difficult thing to do, until you learn how He talks and what His answer is. Beautifully written, blessings Roy
