What Is Love?

This is a very relatable issue, at least for women. I call it the Cinderella complex. As little girls we are raised on so much Prince Charming charging in to take us away to live happily ever after tales. I think it really sets us up for disappointment when reality/maturity sinks in. And it really isn't fair to men either...Prince Charming is hard to compete with!
Great entry for the prompt!

I guess my experience has been a little, I'm still with the woman I married first. The children and God added a dimension of knowing love is so much more than just feelings, it's all about covenant and promise opposed to falling in or falling out, beautifully written, blessings Roy

Yes, Roy, that was the kind of marriage our parents had. I was naive. However, getting married at 53, though a challenge, was one of the best decisions I made. We have been married for 11 years now. Thank ou for your encouragement.

The reality of life has a habit of slapping us in the face but I learned to slap it back and anticipate its threat over time. Finding happiness comes from within and coping with rejection leaves us relying on ourselves and that strength within to pull us through. I loved the Sound of Music, I rode the wave of an idyllic life knowing full well that it was all fantasy. I enjoyed your witty presentation, love Dolly x
