Gerard,

Congrats on winning the Love Bites Contest. Your one stanza rhyming poem fully captures the tragedy of love gone wrong. I gather from the notes that the accused was acquitted of the murder implied in the poem.

One small note: Shouldn't there be a period rather the a comma at the end of the last verse.

All the best,

Eugene

Thank you very much, Eugene. That must be a typo at the end. Sorry. I hope it doesn't ruin it for you. You gather right from the notes. I left that ambiguous for the reader. Regards, GK

Your poem made me smile. I'm not sure what that says about me.

I like they rhythm your poem has. I do enjoy a limerick.

Wishing you the best in the contest.

It tells me that is to your credit. You have an appreciation for what used to be known as black comedy. Do not lose that talent.

Very vile and deadly poem that does not best around the bush. Funny as well. Not short and sweet, but rather short and butter.
Good luck in the contest.

Yes, vile and deadly but I am glad that the funny element leavened the bitterness to some degree. Raymond Chander might have titled it " Bitter Goodbye" or perhaps " The Long Goodbye For Good."

Sometimes short and sweet is what is needed and this is short and bitter? Anyway, it was what was needed to win my vote in this love bites contest, good luck.

Ouch! Talk about the darker side of love and getting your hands dirty. It's a funny poem. Love the title. There must have been extenuating circumstances because of the acquittal. :)

She had quite a party that night with the jury. Just don't tell anybody...

Oh yes, This really is a love gone wrong and I can't help but smile at the humour, not only in your murderous verse, but also in your author's note! Love the first line in particular. Sometimes you just have to match evil with evil! Well done and good luck! Debbie

Thanks very much and I am glad that it brought a smile to your day. Yes, sometimes the evil is funny to watch and hear at its base value.
