A fun entry to this fun contest. I would say, perhaps, that your first line is a bit long/choppy and does not flow smoothly into/with the second... thanx so much for sharing and best of luck to you!! :)

A cute tale about a cat losing his hat which is true to the prompt.
'He can't wear it now
He's lost it somehow'
Makes him sound lovably clumsy.
I enjoyed reading this little poem. Good luck in the contest.
