Excellent, yes, here in Aus, we are trying to find ways to protect these wonderful creatures, for many years they were a source of food for the indigenous, a wonderful read and message****kahpot

I didn't know you lived in Australia.
I thought writing about endangered animals ( including those that are less known too) would be an interesting subject for a book for kids.
I'm not a poet so my poems are simple for children and teens. After all, they are the future generations that will have to deal with the growing problems regarding the conservation of wildlife.

I have to admit I've never heard of the dugongs. When an animal population becomes endangered, there are usually good people who try to see that they are protected. You have some great details here, telling how the dugongs are. (Their poop helps spread grass seeds to generate new growth.) Great description of them being as graceful as mermaids. You also mention the chief threats to them: boats and fishing nets and pollution. Great idea for a book, and best of luck with it. I'll look forward to seeing additional chapters. judi

I had never heard of this shy mammal before. I thought it would be interesting to write about endangered animals, including those less famous.
Thanks for the kind review, glad you watched the video>

Thank you for introducing us to this amazing sea creature and I have never heard of it before and it looks amazing. There is so much to learn about the life under the sea and this is a fine, informative poem, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

It is an unusual creature .. I do agree there are so many animals we are not even aware of , time to introduce them along with the well known ones.
Thank you for taking time to read my poem.

What a fascinating creature! The image of a sea cow grazing in ocean fields of grass is a funny one. Thanks for sharing your extremely educational poem of this threatened species.

They look like they are vacuum cleaning to me.
Hopefully the Arabs and Australians ( there is a huge population in the Barriere reef ) can protect these peaceful creatures.
Don?t understand why we just can?t avoid these dire situations in the first place.
Glad you enjoyed the video.
