Perhaps this Goddess is a legendary Irish goddess who was said to represent the sun, fertility, and love. She was also said to possess the power to grant a bountiful harvest beauty.

Just beautiful Gypsy! I have often written poetry from a man's POV so I understood what you were doing even before reading the author notes. Writing is much like acting... we take on the voice of someone else and "play a part" in a way. Sometimes we write in our own voice, but sometimes not. Your poem creates such beautiful imagery and a tender mood of love and admiration. I enjoyed it very much. MM

Like women, men have very different ideas, views, and needs, when trying to woo the opposite sex, pedestals are fine, though for me equality is better, your second stanza is inspiring if reaching for the stars, an excellent read as you will bring back many memories for the love struck man, very well done****kahpot

This was a lovely poem that showed how deeply one can fall in love. I loved the line about the only witnesses being the bending reeds and you. Both almost bowing in her presence. You nailed the male perspective. Great job. Gretchen

I think this expresses the the nostalgia a man feels about a woman he loved or still does.
Seems like she is no longer in his life. As I feel sadness in the words.
