This poem has a good message. You are so right. Life is meant to be lived and used to do what we can to help other. There will come a time when we will be called on to give a report of what we have done with the time we were given.

I admit that I am more of a side sitter than a participator these days.
But I think I did a lot of good participating throughout my life.
Right now it feels good to sit and relax and watch...

"We do not have to be the star of the game." Pff! Try telling that to my six-year-old. If the spotlight ever goes off her, God help the lighting man. LOL
Nice pink flowers in your complementary picture art choice.
"Life's not a spectator sport" Hmm! But sometimes, a necessary part of the game is he watching.
"Did we get on the field," Sometimes it's scary/dangerous to get out there.
But ultimatel, I agree with you; we must actively live life--somehow, some way.

I liked the first stanza and the rhyme, I have to admit I was a little disappointed that the next stanza did not. Apart from that I found it perfectly pleasant a positive message and an interesting origin. Definitely worth a 5.

Very thoughtful poem, and an excellent saying upon which to base your thoughts. Spectators are often guilty of doing nothing when in fact they should be doing something eg standing up for right, and showing compassion. Well said.

I liked reading your poem. We shouldn't complain. I think about Israel and Ukraine. Look how they are suffering. I like where you said : life is not a spectator sport. Very good job

Life begins with our first breath and ends with the last....regardless of how we participate in the middle, it moves forward with or without us.

Very, very good and essential message. My only SMALL concern is: Do you need a comma after "we were not", in that final line? You are definitely a Str in my Hall of Great Writers!

Patricia,
My family's from NYC and long before I was born my dad was a Brooklyn Dodgers fan then turned to a Mets fan of course. The Giants came before or after not sure. I always say also that Love is an action word. In whatever way we can be involved to do good in the world, we should.
A well written poem and lovely presentation and Author Note too. Thank you for sharing it with us.
Have a good day,
Alexandra
