Mark, this is just beautiful with a much needed reminder inside: heaven is always open. Wonderfully crafted and illustrated in short verse 5-7-5 poetry; your favorite form.
Sending you my best today as always.

Thanks Sal,
So, pleased this one inspired you.
It is likely that when YOU are asked the last question before entering the pearly gates that the question will not be to spell the word "antidiseestablishmentarianism." LOL (original old joke was to spell the long version for the flower ?mum.?

Another fine 5-7-5 from the master of the short form! Funny how we find ourselves contemplating eternity as we get older, huh? :-) Impressed, as always, with your talented short-form pen, sir -- thanx for sharing (and for making us stop and think!)... :-)

Oh Yvette, so glad we can reconnect.
Thanks for your compliment about my short poem style. Honestly, long ones don?t appeal to me at all.

P.S. Were you familiar with my Fibonacci puzzle? If not, I can give you a class LOL

Wow! I haven't thought of the song for awhile - now it's running through my head again and again.
This past year has been rough (health wise) and this is a perfect message to remember. We are always close to knocking on heavens door.
Well done Jim.
Blessings

Many thanks for your review. Dylan and I share the same birthday just different years(-;
Apparently, my poem moved you. Do hope you are now getting better.

I was thinking of this the other day, how you could explain to someone who is on the fence to believing in Jesus. How our everyday life, we don't always think and call on our Lord, but on our darkest hour, we fall right on heaven's door, right at his feet. Thank you.

That is so true! As with the dying thief, God will be patient till our final hour. The concern is, we don't know when that hour will come, so we should be vigilant early and receive His forgiveness and Blessings.

The song pops into my mind here, yet grief or the pending/knowing that the loss of a loved one shines through in your words, a beautifully written and presented 5-7-5 poem, very well done****kahpot

I enjoyed reading your Senryu and its positive message. When we face
troubled times we must have Faith and look for the light.
Beautiful choice of artwork compliments your poem.
Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Nancy!
My FanStory poetry output is most typically 5-7-5. Long poems are never in my poetry wheelhouse.
Glad we can enjoy the light.

P.S. I usually use FanArtists for all the illustrations and photos paired with my FS posts. We can thank them for their efforts on our behalf.

Hi G!
So pleased that you reviewed this poem and prompted you to sing Dylan?s song. Honestly, the song title was unfamiliar to me; the lyrics were! I appreciate your commentary.
My poem style is only this short stuff. Longer poems are not in my poetry wheelhouse.

Very nice complementary picture art choice.
Nicely met the 3-line and syllable count requirements of a senryu poem.
Hopefully, we don't 'knock on heaven's door' as in death, but in prayer, supplicating God's help. May God, indeed, hear us and grant us his light.
