Hi Kace, I hope that people throughout
the world will always honor their soldiers...
those that have passed...and those that still live
the memories of battles gone by...

and your so right my beautiful friend...they walk
among us everyday...waiting to see their families
come home...there will be a time when we will all
be back together...

this is a wonderful dedication the Jan...she truly honored
all men and women who gave their lives...and fought in
the war for us...and those who survived...I know she is
reading this poem...and is so grateful to you...

I love your story told...and your poem written right from
your heart...this is such an amazing picture...lot's of love to you...

In memory of Jan, you've crafted a very detailed picture of a day of tribute to past and current soldiers. Each stanza adds to the description and activities of the day. Especially vivid are the words, "The Honour Roll of the Dead-Sun rising warming the living=Those who can march for ancestors." Best wishes in the contest.

"Old soldiers walk or ride to the Cenotaph" Is that like the city's memorial center?
Good visual imagery, which puts me right into the scene.
Indeed, indeed, we deeply honor those soldiers who have given their ultimate gift for us.

Hi, new friend. Yes, you have memorials like Arlington, and we have a Cenotaph in every town with the honor roll of those who lived in the towns and died in the wars. K XX

Beautifully written free verse for Jan and for all those who fought or are fighting, Kay. I particularly love the ghosts of the fallen being their among those paying tribute. A beautiful poem for ANZAC Day. Good luck in the contest K.

Wonderful verse that pays tribute to soldiers everywhere. I like your words about them still being here and watching us. It is very comforting. It is important that we continue to honor them.

Lovely poem of remembrance for the contest, which would also be suitable for 25 April, and 11 November. Thoughtful and meaningful, and well illustrated. Well done. Sending you best wishes for the contest.

Hi Beth, Yes Jan always honored the fallen. We still miss her, she tried to help so many. And her passing was so much of a shock. Hope you are well. K xx

Thank you for remembering all our veterans both for your country and as Jan did for our country. I loved that you ended with the Lord wiping our tears and the reunion with families in Heaven. Jan is reunited with her loved ones now.

A lovely, atmospheric poem. Have you thought of reading it out at an ANZAC Day service? Through your writing, I could really imagine myself there at the march.

Hello Sarah, many thanks for reading. I can't get to the 4 am service because I am in a wheelchair by myself. So, this is my way of honoring the fallen in all wars. Blessings, Kay.

You already had me with your beautiful poem, but at the mention of one of my best friends here, you reeled me in. I miss her so much that my heart aches yet.

And don't you think it eerie that the eclipse is happening on Anzac Day?
What an amazing poem that I would like to print and keep forever in my special poems written by others.

Thank you for this amazing treat today, Kace! Love, Debi

Hello You, Jan came to mind and I wrote for her. She was so committed to writing for the fallen in all wars. She was too young but I guess she is looking down and loving us. Your special poems book must be the size of the family Bible with clasps on it! Love, Kace XX

I don't print as many as you might think. However I have many I keep in a folder in my Apple Notes on my iPad.
