This is a well written naani poem. It is sad you easily and often divorce happens. So many broken families with just two signatures on pieces of paper.

Thank the Lord! somebody else had done the slightest bit of research to realise these are meant to be about Human relationships; not nature. I wish you luck in the competition I am fast learning they have very little to do with talent, (which you plainly have.

Wow, thank you for the six and all the kind words! Yes, naani should be about human relationships, nor should they rhyme (which a few of these entries do). It really is the job of the contest creator to make these things clear.

I struggled to find any information on Naani, just the same thing on two different websites. But I did look. I chase up the competition setter about another one the Senryu as they did not explain how to tell if it is a Senryu or a Haiku. They didn't answer the thread and essentially said ask someone else when I messaged them directly,

There is a tremendous amount of backstory implied in this Naani. The divorce seems very acrimonious and you describe HIS expression vividly. Hopefully, child custody won't be another issue. Well done! Rod

It seems you got the lines and syllable count right for this contest. Your poem was heartbreaking. I don't think the ending of a marriage is usually happy, though, so that makes sense. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.
