Rod,

Congrats on your win in the Nanni poem contest. Your short but creative poem is an exceptional example of a Nanni. The syllable count is perfect and the imagery infused in the 5 lines of the poem is brilliant. This poem however is deserving of 10 stars+

All the best,

Eugene

FYI, naani as most often about human relationships. Sorry, I don't like giving fours, but there are so many flawed naani I felt the need. Fortunately, yours doesn't rhyme as so many in this contest do.

This rating does not count towards story rating or author rank.
The highest and the lowest rating are not included in calculations.

There is nothing that I have read that says a Naani is "most often" about human relationships. The prompt said it could be about anything and so did most poetry sites on Google.
reply by Val Crisson on 08-Apr-2024
Obviously, you don't write naani often. The prompt was pathetic. Nonetheless, good luck.

Well, this site as to look into what short form rules are allowed. The second place winner in this contest was a naani.

Good use of simile for the sun and butter.
Indeed, the scenery of dusk is a beautiful, captivating setting.
Successfully met the line and syllable count requirements of the poem type and contest.

A very original metaphor--the sun melting over the water. It's vivid and really engages the senses ...the warmth, the color, all really effective in setting your scene!
