This poem deeply shocks the reader, and we know that human cruelty can easily lead people to despair. We are responsible for what we do and must think of the consequences of our actions.

Another fine poem, Gypsy....and I can't imagine feeling that way, says I now, but years ago the desolation I felt I can see how a person could get depressed to this degree

Broken hearts are horrible. I enjoyed the metaphor of the trees swing and the left rope. You do a wonderful job writing the emotion and the metaphors. Thank you for sharing your talent.

Wow. The imagery in this was so subtle but powerful indeed. The rope swing, which would encourage a happy scene. Maybe him pushing his wife or child and them laughing, to the piece of rope just hanging. This was a sobering write. Gretchen

Thank you very much, Gretchen. The woman left her husband for a rich man. He had nothing left and committed suicide.

Hi Gypsy, when relationships come to an end, for some, it's difficult to put one's life back together. These can be dark times, and people who suffer with mental health issues can sometimes find it difficult, or impossible, to make changes.
Your poem reads and flows well, and your message is clear. Thank you for your author's notes. Well done. Xo. M

That's so sad. If she left, then she really didn't love him so he didn't really lose anything. It's too bad that he didn't love himself enough to see life was more than just what one person thought.

heartbreak can be so devastating; it is like we have lost part of ourselves, and there is nothing we can do to feel like we will ever be complete again, very well written and presented****kahpot

I found myself caught between a smile and a feeling of sadness for this one. The thing is that I could not tell you why.
I think it addressed the confusiĆ³n one feel after a broken heart.
