Hi Gypsy, your poem is filled with vivid imagery. I could see the entire scene. Of special note:

rising moon fills
the porch swing

(Nice, albeit the swing is empty.)

Great photo choice. I feel as if this picture could have been taken somewhere in NC. Well done. Xo. M

The irony is that the "fills" implies that there is something that occupies that porch swing. But that it's empty and filled with moonlight makes us realize someone is missing.

I am envious of who ever has that porch. I have a covered porch and a porch swing but this picture tells a story. I like the image that came to mind when I read your haiku. I could see a harvest moon, the large kind that sit low in the sky. looking at an angle that makes it seem as though the moon is resting on the swing. Lovely poem. Gretchen

Nice Haiku, this seems to be your perfered genre. I like the tones of colors and the message. The porch chairs gives it a human touch.
Was wondering, do you speak any other language?

Gypsy,

I like the feel of this Haiku but don't like your choice/imagery of cold (dusk). Your selected artwork does not represent a cold feeling to me even with the allusion of the moon shining down.

I want a beautiful full moon rising, filled with hope and love. DARN!!! I guess the opposite happens too whether we want it to or not. LOL Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem with us.
