Your banana poems spur me to know more.
The banana industry provides one million work and more importantly, it is a food that provides people with their basic mineral and vitamin intake.
Bananas, apples and grapes are the top 3 eaten fruits in the world.
This delicious food is one of my all time favourite after blood oranges .
What I found out this morning is a shocker .. the cavendish banana could be wiped out just like the Big Mike in the 60s.
Not having seeds is a big disadvantage.

Yes the cavendish will eventually need a replacement. Maybe we will come up with a better breed eventually that resists bruising like the Cavendish, but is more flavorful like the previous dominant breed. Thanks for the thoughtful comments!
