I like this, though remained intrigued, your words along with your chosen artwork (to me) suggest a lot of grey in the moonlit canvas, I am thinking that not all is perfect, again this is wonderful, best wishes for your contest****kahpot

Often I try to match my illustrations to my verses. But sometimes, I do not succeed and just use the illustration as an intriguing item or an ?advertisement? to read my post. I am aware of the ekphrastic poem style, but usually write my poem first and then seek artwork from the FanArt choices.

FYI... I did not infer that there was anything sinister/grey or imperfect in my overall presentation (although honestly that idea never crossed my mind in composing this poem). My poetry skills are not advanced enough to even consider that underlying possibility.

Your poetry is always skillful, your way of writing first is different to me, my muse comes mainly from artwork, and to me your skills like everyone else are too/do entice the reader to decide for themselves, I try and use the fanart as often as possible, they like us are trying to express their passion

Oh.... Clever!

I'm reminded of all the times I've been camping and have imagined creatures that come to life in my imagination, aided by the moonlit shadows, swaying branches, and critters morphing into other-worldly images.

(At least I hope it was my imagination!)

    K

I recall more ominous situations around the campfire when certain (ghost) stories scared the bejesus out of me!

Thanks for your perspective and your personal images as it relates to my few words.

This lune poem, Portrait at Night, has the proper formatting and imagines the best case scenario of shadowy figures that may be cast uopn one's shades at night.

    Bill,

Thanks for your response to my poem. Walking in the dark woods on a Halloween night might be more scary than the image I intended.

This is just so lovely in lune form, my talented friend of short verse poetry. The stunning art adds to the presentation so nicely. Sending you my best today as always and my very best wishes for the upcoming lune poetry contest.
