So, perhaps Mrs. Collete the vile woman she was accused of her being, and hiding that letter could be the proof, but Heddie' mum's a godly woman I'm betting, and she's won a small battle herself, it pays to be kind, albeit a little sneaky, well done Gretchen, blessings Roy

Mrs. Collette is an uneducated woman who thinks others who have education and manners need to be brought down a peg or two. Insecure and a bully. Thank you for this. Gretchen

Could it be Mrs. Collette had been holding the letter from a previous delivery just to make Heddy's mother worry? Mother certainly tried her best to placate the difficult postmistress.

I think Mrs. Collette feels powerful. Like she can keep people from getting what they want. A bitter woman. Gretchen

I'm so happy for Willis and his family, and I can't wait to see how his character develops in this saga.

There's something to this hiding mail situation. It seems especially concerning letters from Willis.

Loved this chapter! Best, JohnC

I hate Mrs. Collette. She is evil. I bet she is hiding mom's mail. I think that is a federal offense but how can they prove it?

I hope Heddy and Lester get some time together, stay for dinner.

Well done!

Why was Lester hiding the letter from Mrs. Collette. That does seem a little strange and piques my curiosity. I really like this story, a lot. You're doing a good job writing it.

Yes, we just never know about anyone and what they might be willing to do, but hopefully we all have a Lester to be looking our for us and protecting our privacy. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

I'm wondering if Mrs Collette threw the letter in the bin and Lester retrieved it. It is the type of thing I can imagine her doing. I still think she is a nasty woman. I'm glad that Lester can stay for dinner; that just shows what a piece of chocolate cake can do! LOL (quite honestly, you could get me to agree to almost anything if you give me chocolate cake!!) I'm so pleased the letter was good news and Willis will be coming home. Another excellent chapter, Gretchen! Warmest hugs, Sandra xx

Thank you, Sandra. Mrs. Collette likes to control others. I do believe she would eventually give the letter to them, but knowing they are waiting for it keeps her in control. Does that make sense? Thank you for this nice review. Gretchen

Hello Gretchen,
As is happening all too often, I've run through my sixes. I'm glad I had one last one though. Your writing is always so interesting. I love this story, but I'm perplexed about what is happening with Mrs. Collette. Is she just mean spirited or is she slightly nuts? Or really nuts? I was delighted that Heddy's mother set such a good example for her, not only apologizing but also bringing a peace offering. I love the way she thinks. Well done gal.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

Not sure I trust Mrs Collette yet. Lester doesn't trust her either. She's scheming and manipulate, and would be happy to eat the cake offered but not change her ways. I'm glad they have a time of joy anticipating Willis' return, but I expect he will be a greatly changed young man, unfortunately.

Thank you, Wendy. Lester might have found a hiding spot where Mrs. Collette collects things. Unhappy people do unhappy things. Gretchen

Well written.
So Mrs. Collette isn't all that sorry after all. Or maybe Lester hid the letter before Mrs. Collette had her change of heart. Either way, Willis is coming home!
Best wishes.

Thank you, Wayne. I think Lester found it after Mrs. Collette had misplaced it. But, he didn't trust her to give it to Heddys mom. Thank you for this. Gretchen
