This powerful metaphor with draw the reader in to contemplate just what it is you have in mind for that imagery. The kite there are so many metaphors that could come from that too. Does a kite have boundaries I don't think so I think this is about a person wanting to be free of boundaries as free as a kite.

Hi!
It was good to see a poem show up from you, even if it did get buried in the deluge of one day.
Your point about boundaries was great. We do tend to define our own prisons, keeping us away from people and events that would enrich us with wonder.
Keep writing,
Rhonea

Hi, thanks. I?m sorry this ever saw the light of day. This was done by a friend, the start of a manuscript for a book. I was accepted for publishing by Dorrance, but I have to submit my manuscript in "Word" so this is just a start to see if the format works.

Good luck and congratulations on getting accepted! How fun!
Take care,
Rhonda

The smooth functioning of society and all people groups requires boundaries. Yet they must be created and maintained with thoughtfulness and wisdom. Freedom from boundaries is not true freedom, as society then becomes a self-centred mess. Very thoughtful.

You have used some great metaphors to portray what it feels like to have to stay withing boundaries, many of which we create ourselves. You leave us with much to think about.

A very very thoughtful poem. this is what a good poem is supposed to do. The picture meshed perfectly. One tip however, You did not mention in your author notes where the picture came from. If it is yours, I will add another Kudos for a perfectly envisioned theme! But if you got it from Pinterest, google, Bing, Stock, or any other free source it needs to be mentioned. They can get testy about it on occasion. Karen :-)

Very good message your poem. It is definitely true that we do create a lot if our own prisons... boundaries that sometimes are good for us and a lot of times not so much.
Thanks for sharing this with us.

Nicely done! There are different opinions about boundaries and you were kind enough to point out several of them to us. I think that boundaries although uncomfortable are kind to us at all ages. They help keep us from doing damage to our reputation and our bodies. Thanks for sharing.

We sometimes are carried along or shall I say borne along by the winds of chance. I refer to your mention of like a kite. It is never pleasant to be subject to the vagaries of circumstances beyond our control, but it does happen.

Your message is loud and clear. It is also a message that I agree with whole - heartedly. We do, indeed, set and enforce most of our own boundaries. This was a nice piece of writing.
