Hi MariVal,
hmmmmm, doesn't these six words lead one into a few different directional thoughts?
My first reaction was... well, I have to admit, dark.
Like who did away with the Vintner... his wife, his children... a competitor? A thirsty brother?
Okay settle down James... maybe the poor Vintner die of old age and his wish was to be buried on his land with his love of grapes and wine. Oh, but then my mind jumps back and forth as I think about the following years and the rich vintage that's going to be produced in his vicinity... definitely a prime vintage and I'm thinking a red?
Very clever use of six words for this contest MariVal... all the very best with this beautiful presentation and the Tuscan landscape.
With our thoughts we create...
a rich blend.
Warmest regards,
James.

LoL "Okay settle down James." That's funny.
James! I appreciate your insightful review and many interpretation
(*<>*) the Vintner died of old age in his beloved land. His body becomes compost to feed his beloved vineyard. With haiku, the simplest answer is the right one.
I hope you are well, my friend.

Everything in this contest entry is perfect. But I'm wondering if this poor man is buried in his vineyard or something else is compost. Hmmm, I have to believe it's something else. I hope it's not his wife. LOL Good luck with the contest.

Very cool. This was kind of a mysterious story in a poem. Who was buried in the fields? Was it an animal? Was it the owner of the vineyard? Was it a worker? Was it an animal? Whatever is buried there is one with the grapes. Gretchen

"One with the grapes" I love that...it's very Zen.
It's the Vintner's vineyard where he is buried.
Thank you very much, Gretchen, my insightful friend.

Some things. Like what this poem touches on.are inevitable. We all must walk thst way some day. I think that's a beautiful way to do it.
Like the words and the color. Perhaps of a sunset?

This type of poem is very interesting. I liked that you expressed such a profound thought in just six words. "To earth we return" and all of that. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

When trees drop their leaves and unpicked fruits those things decompose and nourish the soil that feeds the trees for another generation. In the same way, the vineyard farmer still feeds and cares for his trees as he decomposes. Great use of the six words!! Hope this does well in the contest!
