I see now you were the author of this. It was by far the best and had my vote. I loved the literary interwoven with the flower theme. Well done!

Love the flow of the lines, aligning with the heather. I have never read nor seen wuthering heights but between the title and the lines along with the picture, everything links up and I can almost imagine the two running through the fields with ropes of heather tethered around their wrists, entwined and holding together. Nicely done.

There are many versions but my favourite is the 1939 one with Sir Lawrence Olivier and Merle Oberon.
I'll send you a short clip via PM cause here it blocks.
It's in B&W so you don't get to see the heather in colour, they pick arms full at the end of the scene.
The 1992 version with Ralph Fiennes and the Timothy Dalton, Tom Hardy versions are all worth watching.
I love how you imagine them.
They are two free spirits, soulmates and their love is all-consuming..

Very clever, and very beautiful too! I love how you used those characters in this, letting such a short piece of writing tell a full story.
Well done!

Thank you for the praising words.
As soon as I chose heather for this flower contest , the moors in Wuthering Heights came to mind.
It s one of my all time favourite stories.
Keep safe! 🍀

Nice one and an original use of the prompt, focusing on the story rather than the flower itself. Star-crossed lovers always make good fodder for verse.

Glad you appreciated the read , I was hoping the rhyme and meaning behind tether and Heather would win me some sympathy in the contest. ( biggrin)
Also I love stories full of drama and turmoil.
And sad endings are the icing on the cake !
