What a beautiful tribute to an everlasting love.Returning the gift of roses she'd received from him back to him in remembrance of what they shared. Really lovely.

I love this and voted for you in this contest! It shows lots of feelings in the flowers. Death makes the feelings stronger in this poem. Good luck with this!

A beautiful poem about yellow roses. Her husband must have been partial to roses, also. My mom loved her yellow roses; she was not from Texas but am glad she chose this magnificent flower to love.

Thank you for your kind word about this poem. A good friend was just telling me about this just this week. She said her husband had brought them on the first date and ever after.

A powerful evocation here through the beautiful yellow roses of loss and love of a beloved spouse - short format poems speak through their minimalist format

Thank you very much for a wonderful review. A good friend and I were talking just yesterday about her doing this for her husband.

An excellent entry for the 5-7-5 A Flower Writing prompt. Poignant and sad. The syllable count meets the criteria. Thank you for sharing the poem. Good luck in the contest.

Your short poem poignantly describes the roses the spouse has laid upon her husband's grave. Such roses symbolize their love in life as he'd given them to her. I found this gesture very touching. Rod

Poignant, sweet and original! I like how you've imaginatively layered your reflection of the beautiful image with romance and sorrow. The symbolism of the blooms is also an added quality here. Your well-crafted 5-7-5 perfectly fulfils the contest prompt. Well done and good luck! Debbie
