Firstly I like the title name, well done on the 575 syllable scheme. This is a well written poem with beautiful imagery. I feel deeply connected to this because I'm a believer too! The words really conveys the reality of what it is to come on that good Friday. The metaphors in your poem really captures the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. I love that the first two lines are the same colour of the palms and the red bold writing of broken and bleeding really gives the event that is about to take a place a really powerful sense of importance. Well done and good luck in the contest!

Thank you for commenting on the details of the visual imagery -- I was starting to wonder if anyone had caught on to the double meaning of palms, and you clearly did : )
I noticed from your profile that you recently joined the site, so welcome! Looking forward to seeing your stuff.

Ciao !
A sad but well penned tribute to Palm Sunday which kicks off the Holy week and ends on Easter Sunday with the resurrection of Jesus.
How a crowd can be manipulated so easily.
The same people who praised Jesus when he entered Jerusalem were the same only days later shouting to save a well-known murder and thief rather than Jesus.

You're darn right about that! Crazy how little people have changed. Yes someday we will reprogram people to be different, but maybe not in a good way. Thanks so much for this great review -- much appreciated. 🦍
