Oh, Jesse, my heart hurts for you regardless -- your poem plainly states that you are fine, but any ending is difficult when it comes to matters of the heart. Well done, both the beautiful sentiments scribed AND your brave, new start!

Thank you, Dawn, for your kind and compassionate review. I am attempting a brave new start. I like that I might use it as the title of my next post.

I'm impressed with your resilience, Jesse. Did David move on because he had to move? You were so close and always did things together. I hope he will still meet with you.
Great poem and I wasn't sure if the memory "placed on my lover's skin" was physical like a tattoo, or just figuratively.
Congratulations on your 200th post!

This gave me chills reading it! This definitely deserves six stars. I didn't expect the ending. This shows so much feeling in just a few words. Also, congrats on your 200 posting, and for being an all-time best!

-Nice image and presentation, Jesse.
-Your notes are appreciated, but
I am sorry about David leaving.
-Effective imagery and rhyme.
-A very good opening verse.
-You do a good job in the
second verse showing how
you will treasure these memories.
-A very good concluding verse that
shows there are "no more tears to fear,"
you still have a chance to gain love, and
"there's no more pain."
-I think it is good you expressed
your feelings.
-Congratulations on post number 200!!!

Jessi, this is a beautiful poem, coming from a mature and wise soul such as yourself! The picture, too, so wistful! Dignity comes across in this poem, also! Maddy

Jesse, I should have a six for you for this heartfelt poem. I am so sorry for what has happened, but then again, I feel you try to find the positive and a way forward, and for that I'm glad. A break up is never easy. Thank you so much for sharing. Ulla xcx

When someone moves on from your life, they leave a hole. Finding the things or people that will fill that void will take time.
Please know my thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time - but your poem tells me you are finding the good things to hold onto,

Thanks, Patty, for the six stars and wonderful review. I feel somewhat empty. I can fill that up with plenty of music, friends, and conversation. These are some of the good things I hold onto.
Take care of yourself, my friend.

Emotional intensity runs deeply through your poem, Jesse. I admire the positive spin you have put on this sad parting. The only way in life is forwards. That is my belief, anyway.
