Hi Gypsy, each day, the sun slowly sets. One minute it is there, and the next minutes it just surrenders itself as it slips into the sea. Well done. Great graphics. Good sensory appeal. A pleasure to read. Xo. Margaret

thank you for putting the definition of pacific in your notes...
totally thought you mean the actual pacific ocean lol
a great haiku - deep and thought-provoking - like the ocean...

I'm struggling with the idea of the sun drowning. I know it appears that way when you watch it lower, but drowning is so final. Oh well, it does make for a really good poem. Thank you for sharing.

I remember when I was younger, holding my breath when the sun would go behind the horizon. I saw my first true sunset in Hawaii. I was astounded at the colors. A native Hawaiian whispered "can you hear it sizzle as it hits the water?". I get noise bumps now thinking about it. Beautiful! Gretchen

I'd never heard that rule for a haiku before! Thank you for enlightening me. I really enjoyed your poem and the well chosen picture to accompany it. It almost feels like the beginning of a book... one I would definitely read!

I loved this. It put a smile on my face because it's such a unique way to describe a sunset. Wonderful message and a beautiful presentation yet again. I thought the last line was especially strong because it came as such a surprise.
