Thank you. I think your surmise is a good one. Also, I think there is some fun/humor here. If one reaches for a star but is only on par,
then laugh any disappointment away and keep on trucking. Is
"keep on trucking" a correct expression here? It's new to me.

This short and concise poem relies on a single end rhyme sound. It is definitely a challenge to say everything that needs to be said with that kind of restriction. I think this poem succeeds in that respect. Nice share. Good luck in that contest!
