I like this and have given it a high mark. But it currently feels like it is the start of something bigger. It leaves me with a question that I would be happy to read on and have answer. I think this could be the first part of a three parter. It very much feels like a beginning calling out for a middle and an end.

Locust, hi, I had to come and welcome you and I wrote on your first milestone post. Congrats and welcome. I wanted to take the time to review you because I see some lovely talent here and I would love to offer a little help if you would like, and if not, feel free to ignore.
However, I normally do like to welcome and offer help here every chance I get. Tom appreciates that a couple of us do that.
Anyway, I loved your poem, and it is obvious that you are no beginner to poetry.
But would like to tell you something that could help. They really do recommend using a photo or picture of some kind.
You can get them off google or fan art review right here. It is really easy to do and I wouldn't mind helping you include it if you would like to try. Poems have a much better chance in contests with pictures. I started the same as you with my first three without because I did not have anyone offer, so that is why I always like to help.
You can let me know, and like I said, beautiful poem. Very impressive!! Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.
And one more reason I want to help you is because we are almost neighbors. I am from Minnesota.

These are striking stanzas with a title to interest the reader - as emotions are examined particularly regret and grief- probably two powerful sentiments that impact our human lives

A very beautiful poem about sadness and grief.
Well written with a lovely flow, and rhymes that worked well. A poem that I'm sure many readers can relate to.

Of course, there are times in our lives when things come to an end, either by our choice or someone else's. We know it was the right thing, but that loss is still there.
Have a great day!

In this poem you poetically capture the feelings of regret and sadness experienced when thinking of a failed relationship. Your well chosen words allows the reader to understand your complicated emotions. Well done. Best wishes in the contest.

This poem about sadness was beautiful, though it was, of course, sad. I really liked the poem. I have no criticism. Thank you so much for sharing, and best wishes to you.

Locust, a melancholy rendering of protagonist reflecting on misdeeds and missteps, while longing for yesterday's could haves/should haves. I do
have a couple of suggestions: please increase the font size and make the
print bolder/darker...It's quite difficult reading the smaller size letters against the background. Good luck in the contest. teafor2

I find this piece fascinating. Your rhymes are carefully chosen, the form of the poem itself is so unique, and I felt like I had to re-read it out loud, always a good sign for me. Well done, and I wish you luck in the contest!

I have felt these feelings and we feel such inner grief when we break up with a partner we have become used to in life. Yes, sadness comes to mind with your special poem for the contest, I wish you luck, love Dolly x
