This one is very heavy on the character conversations, but it shows their good will and the connection between them. Even a bullet can't keep Noah down, good thing it missed all the important organs.

Nicely written chapter.

Thank you for the kind review. It's a good thing he had his bullet proof vest on.

Hi Barbara. I've been gone off and on the last couple of years but back for now. I always enjoyed reading your stories. I haven't read the previous chapters before this one but it sounds like a very intriguing storyline. I'll have to go back and read them.
You always have great dialogue that makes your characters very believable.

Things are beefing up for Noah and Sami, and I hope the friendship continues to grow. Perhaps one day, there will be love in the air for Noah, if not already.

Best, JohnC

Hi Barbara,
I enjoyed this chapter a lot. I love the way you wove the backstory about Noah with the conversation between Sami and Sarah. It is always helpful to have the information WITHOUT there being narrative - but you know that. Thank you for sharing, and I will wait patiently (?) for the next chapter,

I'm sure you know I prefer to us dialogue as much as I can to move the story along. Thank you for the kind review.

Hello Barbara,
this was a good chapter. Having Noah get shot was an interesting turn of events. Thank God for Kevlar vests. That bruise looks nasty. I still don't understand why Sami can't understand that Noah saved her from a really unpleasant situation. Perhaps his willingness to take a bullet for her will change her way of thinking. Well done gal.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

I am continuing to enjoy this. I like that we know a little more about Noah's character and now we see more of Sarah. I think the ice between Noah and Sami has finally been broken. I really enjoyed this. Gretchen

Suspense in this story. I keep wondering if Sami will find the kidnapped girl and they'll be set free to live a life of freedom. I guess we'll have to wait and see. Is this book lengthy?

This story is around 90000 words. Not my longest, but about average for me. Thank you for the kind review.

Afraid of sounding like a stuck record, I just can't help dwelling on the fact that it's hard for me picturing you writing this story. But you're doing a great job and I'm enjoying every minute. Thanks for sharing.

"Noah's a liar. I should've thrown it away. Why haven't I?" This is a good question. If Sami feels that strongly about Noah it would appear she would not want, nor keep, anything associated with him.

What does Noah have to hide even his ex-long term partner could never drag out of him? Having a deep, dark, secret adds another level of mystery to Noah's character.

Noah afraid to "show any emotions" is a good method to help ensure people do not get too close to him.

Gruff, frustrating, and demanding are all means to show Noah's leadership style.

"Just say what want" should be Just say what you want.

Sami appears to sing a different, more concerned, tune upon hearing Noah has been shot. This is also a dramatic scene shift from Sami's previous feelings about Noah. However, she does still harbor ill feelings towards Noah's act of "buying her," which Chen did not like.

In your Notes the A??A?A after "Vest" needs to be deleted.

Well you found a way to work the purchase of a watermelon into leaving Noah open to a drive by shooting. I could see you trying to steer in a focused track here, keep the focus on the character of Noah, who seems to care about Sami, even though he appears kind of business like. The path to romance is laid out. But the suspense is there too, the danger is in the wings. estory
