This is a nice little poem, and I love its imagery.
The picture you chose is very beautiful.
Thank you very mucho for sharing and good luck for the contest.

Thank you so much. I appreciate your review.

That was funny. And, it was very clever. I had been disappointed on here so far. You are a welcome sight.
Sometimes I despair of these contests. People winning because they have friends not talent. So, I try to vote on as many as I can. If more people would vote on more than just the ones they write for, things would be fairer. :-) Karen

Oh my! Ms. Kitty eats her friends for lunch..a horror movie for sure. But definitely cute as the little bird realizes he could be next. Good luck in the contest.

This is a delightful poem, sweetly told, flawlessly rhymed. I can see this as a children's book, one that adults would take pleasure in reading. A great contest entry. Best of luck.

Great use of the prompt! It's funny, fictional and it tells a story. There are a few editorial matters...
"I am not sure." I said, quite wary.
"I am not sure," I said, quite wary.
heard her say "Now where did they go?"
heard her say, "Now where did they go?"
"That is nonsense." she hissed in a rage.

This is super cute. It was categorized as Children's Story, not poetry, so I want expecting a poem. What a nice surprise!
One part I was a tad confused about was "Perhaps it's keeping them in a cage." Who or what is the "it" referring to? I assume it's the owner? I'm sure I could figure it out, but if the intended audience is children, they may be confused.
Small grammar correction: it should be "why have my pets RUN" instead of ran.
I thought the ending was really clever and cute. A cat blaming its owner for a lost toy is very catty.

Poor Ms. Kitty. Preschoolers will be on the side of the mice that got away. Kindergarteners will hope Ms. Kitty catches the mice or a bird. They won't want her to be hungry. This story has a great rhythmic rhyme that captures children's attention. Best wishes in the contest.
My personal favorite lines:
"A can of tuna that just won't do. I play with my food, before I chew!"

What a cute little children's story! The rhyming lines remind me of my favorite childhood books, particularly those of Dr. Seuss. I can even imagine reading it to my kids one day.
Good luck in the contest!
