That is really lovely a good entry to the 5-7-5 competition; I was too late to vote. I have got no idea why it did not do better, perhaps people did not know about the wonderful chameleonic nature of the animals mentioned. My only other suggestion would be to make the text bigger to bring it into balance with the chosen image.

Effective color choices, and I see what you did with the brown and the white to match the text. Neat trivia too, and I liked what you did with the rhymes. My only suggestions are stylistic:
-a brown background that matches more closely with the brown in the siding of the house -- your current color looks a bit reddish on my monitor
-a larger font

LOL thanks but I never win contests unless they are about Russia, and that one other weird time. The weirder the contest, the better my chances. Maybe it's time to host some more weird ones : )

A lovely Ode to Winter done in 5-7-5 poetry format. Nice imagery in only a few words. Anything to do with winter gets my attention. I love the photo you chose to accompanyt this poem. I could see myself living there! Thanks for sharing.
