Nice story.
I learned to really respect Kit Carson after reading 'Blood and Thunder' by Hampton Sides.
"Oh, no! There werst so many, - I don't know what word(s) 'werst' represents. Maybe something different?

I respect him, also, so I used no last names, just first names to give the feel of old west heroes. By "werst", I meant "there were". I tried to follow genuine old west gibberish as spoken by Gabby Hayes.

Thank you. I try to vary my writing between serious and silly. Sometimes, too silly.
