There is an old saying that says a lie can't get around the world before the truth gets its trousers on. That's my interpretation of it anyway. I enjoyed your poem very much. And good luck in the contest. Patricia .

This is a terrific entry in the 2-4-2 contest, and I especially thought your illustration is the ideal visual, complimenting this simple, yet very sweet statement. Best wishes for your creativity!

Fake news is seriously true. Cheryl Atkinson, a world renownedd journalist who once worked for CNN but quit over the one sided-ginned up nature of work place. She once did a piece where she went down a list of over 20 critical news items that were outright lies and never retracted.

I've heard people say they've found things that aren't true on CNN. Fox is always getting sued over things they have reported that isn't true. The regular news is bad but the internet doesn't have any regulaation and anyone can lie and get away with it.

Great alliteration as well as an apt description of the breakneck speed of fake news spreading around the globe. Thanks for sharing, Beth. Best wishes in the contest.

Must agree with the writer. Fank news is much like my use to say about a lie. "A lie will fall to the ground like an acorn when the truth will stand as long as the tree. Good luck, Beth.

I always call it Faux news. The picture is nice. You wrote this little nugget well. A lot of times I sweat over them a lot more than a big story. Weather is easing up some. Have a good weekend, good work.

Thank you Karen. I hope you have a good week. I wouldn't worry about the faux news if so many people I can about have gotten sucked in by it.

Absolutely true. The diminishing of truth and the augmentation of "everyone has their own personal truth" will make for the downfall of society. People will fall prey to error and to anything which "tickles their ears"; they will be simply unable to discern truth and follow it. Excellent use of simile and alliteration. Best wishes for your excellent entry.

Than you Wendy. It seems you hear a lot about fake news in Australia the same as we do in the states. I appreciate the review.

Ain't that the truth, Beth. And every time Donald speaks, I cringe at the sound of his voice.

If reelected, it will be one of the worst days in our history.

Thank you for posting,
John
