I loved it and will go back and read further when I have time. Science Fiction has always fascinated me. I need to try to write something other than my own story...

Hi Esther. Thank you for reading my chapter in the saga of Echo and Theo and their quest. I'm doing the opposite of you. I started with fantasy and am working on my own story. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. There are many on here who do quite well with it.
    Hugs,

I want more. You have true feelings for your writing that stand out right away. These days, my reviewing is slow. I am
hibernating. My pain is such that I am taking my aspirin whenever I wake up after fours or more of sleep. I am keeping track of my dosage times. Then, I drink some liquid, eat a pouch of tuna, and crawl under my heated blankets and pads. Off to sleep I go, Karen :-)

Aww, Karen, I'm so sorry you are having such health issues. Pain is certainly no joke. Been there.
Tuna is always a healthy choice!!
I'm just glad to know you have stopped by to review at all.
    Take care and rest well,

I love that these immortals quibble among themselves just like humans. Oh, the family issues they have. What is Echo getting herself into? It's going to get complicated.
Excellent dialogue to bring out the personalities of the characters.

    Hi Debi!
Thank you for the six stars, my friend, and for the comments. I am trying to show the "human" side of the gods, as it was often brought up in Greek mythology, that and it makes them more relatable for the story, lol.
Echo is really about to be sorry she ever met the lot, lol.

Hello Rhonda,
Another excellent chapter in the book. Hermes is well portrayed; somewhat like a mild mannered Clark Kent/Superman. I like the dialogue between him and Theo. We get a real feel for the underlying power, contrasted with the child-like innocence.
I can understand his reluctance to approach Apollo, the god of sun, music, and poetry, but also archery. Apollo appears to disdain the violent world of the other gods.
Theo is smart in keeping Echo away from the other gods. They don't have a very good reputation involving woman. And, we still don't know the extent of her own powers.
This is an excellent "discovery" chapter where we learn more about the many individuals/gods.
Well done.
Best wishes.
Robert

Hi Robert, thank you for the s stars!! I also appreciate your comments.

There will be one more chapter prior to all the action. Just positioning all the players.

Oh, and Hermes wanted Adam all the time, so did the distraction move all parents learn with children, lol. Only telling you because you're awfully good at guessing.

    Take care,
    Rhonda

Hermes seems to be really afraid of his brother, or maybe he just doesn't like to travel alone. Theo's plan to get Apollo to fight on their side is good as they are rather short on Immortals in the valley, it seems.

Hi Carol, thanks for reviewing! Yes, Hermes is a slick one, lol. He has a method to his madness he'll reveal later. All good, though.

    Take care,

Fabulous chapter, Rhonda, I really enjoyed the mild flirting, and the serious side of this. They have to be prepared for the upcoming war. I also love chrysanthemums, so I was really pleased to see they did. And of course, Echo would never forget those that Theo gave her when she was a little frightened girl.

I also loved your picture, I didn't know Debi was an artist as well? It's amazing. Well done, my friend, I'm sorry I hadn't got a six left this early in the week. It was truly worth one. Warmest hugs, my friend. Sandra xx

    Hi Sandra,
I'll take the virtual six in a heartbeat.
Debi found the picture for me. She has lots of sources to look through and found lots that will work with my chapters.

I like Chrysanthemums because they are November's flower (my birth month) and because they would have been in bloom at the time of year Echo had been lost in the woods. Between them, a tie.

    Hugs,
    Rhonda

It's probably true that we're more likely to like one another when we don't have time to think when they're exciting and don't have time to reflect on people's faults and failings, I don't think we cope with perfection, but Hermes is decidedly 'human heh heh, blessings Roy

    Hi Roy,
Thanks for reviewing! You're right, Hermes is very human-like, as are the others. Hermes is probably one of the most self-aware of the Immortals, lol.

It appears there is quite a bit still going on with these ancient Gods. It looks like there will soon gee another war. You are giving this story a lot of interesting twists and turns I didn't see coming when Theo and Echo met in the forrest.

Good artwork and chapter to go with it, Rhonda. Excellent use of dialogue that moves the story forward and reveals the strength of the characters as they try to figure out how to get Hermes to deal with Apollo. There seem to be extenuating circumstances with each relationship he has formed or would like to form. No one is overly excited about the prospect of dealing with this task. It also seems he wants someone to front for him in this quest, as well.

Theo fills Echo in on the nature of Hermes who sounds quite formidable if challenged. The discussion about the chrysanthemums adds a lighter tone to the chapter. Echo asks a very good question at the end. Well done, my friend. One small thing: for all who bare that distinction." [bear that distinction.]

    Hi Pam,
Thank you for the six stars and excellent review. I'm glad the dialogue is still working as that is my main movement technique.

Lots of back and forth on who needs to go look for Apollo, but with Hermes, there are usually arguments whether they are needed or not. He is, however, as you said, formidable.

I can't tell you how hard I laughed when I got to the spag on bare/bear. Quite a difference in meaning.

    Thanks again, my friend,
    Rhonda
