The Confidant.

It is amazing how strangers confess to strangers.

This poem speaks truth-many a time I've found myself on both sides of the situation, listening to others confess feelings quite personal and, conversely, admitting my own feelings to a stranger. I think people who do so have no one they can express feelings to without hurting someone they love, but they need to express them somehow-a stranger has no stake in the matter, won't be hurt by what's revealed. The speaker, relieved of their burden, walks away knowing they'll not meet again. Your poem is very well done!

Thanks for the review. Glad you enjoyed the read. I think you are onto something as to why strangers are convenient targets for confessions.

Take care and have a wonderful day.

"As sure as I am sitting here,
I tell you that it's true,
Men are all the same my dear
The trouble! ~I've been through."

This is the story she is told
By the woman at her side
Who hungers for some sympathy
And is anxious to confide.

Unique and fun overall I love this.

It is very true and strange, how strangers open up to strangers and share their supposed privacy. Perhaps they get temporary relief when they share their burdens. I love the smooth flow and calmness that accompany the lines as I read. Well done, dear Barry.

I confess, I've had an earful over my lifetime. The soul is a strange thing and easily tipped. I find the fairer sex to me more forthcoming if given in confidence. A wonderfully written poem, Barry. Sending you my best today as always.

    Sally,
Thanks for the kind review. Glad you enjoyed the poem. My partner is a person who attracts all sorts of confessions. Not quite sure why. Anyway, you and your family have a wonderful day.
    Cheers

A twist ending...l like that. I've never had that happen to me, perhaps l don't have a trusting face..lol. An interesting story, it held my attention from the start. I had to know what happened.

Yes it's true -perhaps it's easier to confess to total strangers than to family and friends - a nice twist in the tale here and told with aplomb throughout -raises a chuckle

The last line was a great surprise and I had to laugh . I never expected an ending like that ..LOL . All the complaints sounded typical of a housewife. Very clever!

confidently your story was told. i've never been the one to confide to strangers. maybe its better to admit to yourself before you admit to strangers. your poem was well structure and well written. thanks for the read.
