I'm wicked, but the first thing that came to mind here was the Welcome sign for the fictional town "Schitt's Creek." It's an American show about a wealthy showbiz family who get taken to the cleaners by their manager, and all they own anymore is a horrible little motel in a place called Shitt's Creek. The sign I mentioned is like a mural.
Anyway, you're so right: small-town America just screams murals, and you brought notice of them with this fun poem. I hope it does well for you in the polls. xo

Ciao!
I love them , they cover up dirty walls and brighten up the town.
Also, many designs raise awareness about social issues.
This is an interesting topic for an ode!

Thank you for reading and your comments. Here's to murals and many more. I like how they turn up in unexpected places. Pouring rain and wind here right now. Hubby and I are to go over the Columbia into Washington to celebrate our 60th anniversary. Hope he's still up to the drive in this weather.
-
Best wishes for your 60th anniversary. 🎂 🥂🍾
Take care 🍀
driving through stormy weather is risky
I?m not American so I don?t know how far you need to travel..
Is it too far to take a taxi ?
Are you staying over night?
-
Yes, too far for taxi, and staying over night.
-
At least you are staying over night
It?s a big celebration, I hope you have a great day
Take care ! 🍀

Ciao, you have your first vote! 😐
-
Thank you very much for the vote.

Back home safely. Had a little snow after we got home. We only traveled around 60 miles so it wasn't bad at all, just fast traffic.
-
I had to convert: 60 miles is nearly 100 kilometres .
Not far but not just around the corner either..glad it started snowing after you got home. 😐
Have a nice weekend 🍀

I love these murals and we have several in my town and they are delightful and uplifting. I have a floral mural on my own house! A fine post, love Dolly x x x

Nice!

This is a really fun idea for an ode. You are using one art form to describe another art form! You matched the syllable count for the prompt. Well-written and engaging poem. Thanks for sharing! Julie
