A compelling piece. I was captivated from beginning to end. In the distance, I heard screams of war as fists were raised in the air. I was part of the night and was ready to fight.

In "Savage Steel Symphony" the power and tenacity of struggling for rightful freedoms is emphasized via strong comparisons and examples of struggle that are unmistakable. The titular suggestion developed within the poem is that electric guitars can bring into sound the outrage that oppressive governments can stimulate within their citizens. Those of us who are old enough can remember the role that musical protest played in bringing the Viet Nam War (1961? - 1975) to a conclusion despite the commitment Nixon and other leaders had brought to this bloody debacle.
