I appreciate your different take on horror, Beth. Personally, I avoid the horror genre as I feel there is already enough of it in the real world, why invent more of it? And you're right--what is horrifying to one person is just a big laugh to someone else. (Sorry, I did laugh at your story, especially since they were about to report you as missing.)

Thank you Faith. Actually I'm glad you got a laugh because if I couldn't laugh it now after some time has passed, I wouldn't be posting it.

I love your take on a horror as a personal thing, and I agree. I like horror movies that tackle what it means to be human, and how our bodies can betray us definitely fits into that perfectly. I think its also really brave to share a story like this and commend you for that as well. Thank you for sharing.

Sometimes horror can be personal. Very personal.
Being teased as a young child can be one of the worst forms of horror they can experience regardless what the cause of the teasing may be.
Slaughtering animals for food is one of the simple and many pleasures of farm life.
Old time Western movies were a joy to view. So much better than most Modern television programs today. My favorite Western will probably always remain Lonesome Dove. (Lots of people get killed in this Classic. Hang 'Em High, and High Plains Drifter, with Clint Eastwood are a couple others I always appreciate.)
Smokey Mountains National Park, and the Cade's Cove area. Now, you are talking my kind of vacation. Both are so full of nature they can not help but be thoroughly entertaining.
Your unfortunate incident would be horror and embarrassing to the maximum degree. But, hey, such has happened to many people no doubt, especially after eating all that unfamiliar Korean food you were not accustomed to feasting on.

Thank you Brett. You and I can relate some of what I experiencers as a child, but the killing animal and watching westerns was something I had to adjust to. I did eventually learn to enjoy Lonesome Dove and others. I love vacationing in the Smokey Mountains, just not that particular day. LOL I appreciat you comments.

I like this approach to horror which reminded me of the time I emptied my purse during homeroom to find my lipstick. I forgot about the tampon I had stowed away and out it rolled on the floor!
Some students saw it and snickered. I wanted the floor to open up and swallow me!

Thank you for the review. I'm sure this approach isn't what the contest committee is looking for I can't seem to write the kind of horror that migh actually firghten someone.

Well, we spend most days together sharing out thoughts and feelings, yet after years we've only learned what our assumptions have assessed. I certainly can picture you as softhearted and sensitive to many things, but I also would expect you to stand up and fight off anything that could keep you from exceeding your goals. Thank so much for the six stars. You didn' t if you were totally grossed or had a good laugh. I find it amusing that the guys won't admit to laughing but the ladies will. My own daughter told me "Mom, I'm totally grossed out and LMAO.

I couldn't have written this last year, but after enough time passes, even the most emharrassing things start to make me laugh. My son sort of dared me to write about this last week when we were laughing about it in his office. I guess after surviving that nothing much can get to me. Thanks for the review and comments.

Thank you so much Dawn. I know it isn't what this contest is about. I don't care for that kind of horror and don't think I;d like to write that kind. I just sort of made a pact with myself to see if I enter all the contests that are free to enter and this is what was horror for me. I really appreciate you comments and the six stars.

Thanks Katherine. I think I was suffereing from having my usual routien interrupted. My body is on a schedule and if I not at a spot where it's need can be accomidated it messes up everything. Thinks don't work well when I travel. Thanks for the review.

Don't be sorry you laughed. I was hoping people would find it funny rather than feeling sorry for me. It wasn't at all funny then, but I do find it funny now. However, I perfer to never repeat it.
